Color is incorporated into the mounting adhesive, where it is directly exposed to sunlight. The only thing between the color and the sunlight is the glass surface on which the film is mounted. |
Color is incorporated into the laminating adhesive (between two layers of clear polyester). The benefit is that the color is behind two protective layers (the mounting adhesive and the first clear polyester layer). The result is increased color stability and longevity compared to a 1 Ply type of film construction. |
Basically, the same construction as the 2 Ply NR pictured above, except that the inside layer of clear polyester has been coated with a layer of metal. The benefit of having the metal in the film is that it will keep out more heat. In general, the term “High Performance” means the film has a metal layer somewhere in its construction. It does not mean that the film looks like a mirror. |
